Carving a little Volvo

September 28, 2013

During our last semester in university, a teacher got in contact with Volvo Mexico and they decided to set us to the task of designing a compact Volvo. My teammates and I came up with Chill Out, a mobile shelter for cities.

As part of the design process and project presentation, we created a scaled model by carving and sanding polymers of different densities and adding some punch with tiny LED lights. Today I’m sharing a look into the process of starting with a block of foam and getting to a grey model who’s wheels seemed to have been stolen ;). For a look at the final model, click HERE.
