Not long ago, I wrote a post about how important internet first impressions are and what you should do to make the best of them. In case you missed it, click HERE first to get yourself started and learn the basics on why your profile photos are so important nowadays and what you can avoid.

So let’s just start from the premise that your LinkedIn profile picture is very important to your professional career, in which case you may want to reconsider the one you are using right now ;)
… However, if you are still skeptical on this matter, don’t take it from me and check out these articles with full research on how and why people judge how approachable, knowledgeable and influential you are, from just a single headshot:

7 Factors That Increase The Psychological Impact of Your LinkedIn Profile Photo

If you are now as convinced of the importance of headshots as I am, you might consider going to a professional to do it for you. Apart from using the most flattering lights for your face, a professional photographer should direct you on your posture to bring out your best features. Personally, I would recommend you take 2 or 3 outfits to your shoot so you can test which one is more flattering on camera and which one suits your headshots’ purpose best (again, trust the photographer you chose to give you feedback and help you choose). And most importantly, your photographer should make you feel at ease, have a good time and forget why you used to get nervous in front of a camera while he or she does the work.

These are some headshots I did for my clients’ professional profiles. Would you like to revamp your LinkedIn with a professional headshot? …What are you waiting for? :)
