Specifically designed for Dubai’s public spaces, Loop is a seat that grows organically into its form and function.
The twisting legs echo the way highways turn over themselves into bridges and join back other roads. With ‘flow’ in mind for it’s design, Loop remains ever dynamic as an urban artifact.
Materials: Galvanized polyester powder coated steel and treated wood for outdoor use.

Echoing city blocks (“cuadra” meaning street block in Spanish) and connecting roads in urban environments, Cuadra is a modular concrete seat system that can be installed individually in public spaces or as a set depending on the location and specific purpose of the seat. Its angled shape serves to encourage interaction between passers-by in squares or parks, while the individual seat modules are meant for areas in which waiting times are short – such as a path-walk or a building lobby.

The Paida Orphanage was created in 1929 in the North-Kivu region of the Democratic Republic of Congo. It is managed by religious Sisters of the “Soeurs Oblates de l’Assomption” locally, and supported through fundraising by the PaidaOrphanage association, established in 2011 in Switzerland. A glass cupboard for everything from coffee cups and teapots, to cocktail shakers. Storage area is designed to comfortably access spirits and other bottles as well as small bar accessories. The background paper may be customized to better suit the users’ preferences. The main frame is built in solid oak and the door pulls are made of natural leather.
Designed in 2012.
A custom-designed workspace that maximizes storage and surface areas within a limited study room. Follows the user’s particular needs and is built on solid wood with lacquered wood details. It also has a shelf dedicated to router and other connections-related electronics under the table. Plugs are immediately next to this shelf and cables can be brought up through a removable ‘lid’ on the work surface.

Bring home the cozy feeling of a campfire. This ceramic campfire will warm you, your tea and your marshmallows safely. It may be used indoors only as an ethanol-fueled stove.
Lower and upper vent-holes allow air in and out if the chamber, providing necessary air ventilation. And the top surface conducts heat and allows to heat water for tea or other pots and pans while warming yourself up.

This award was designed as a representation of an informational data network, as well as the valuable interpretation of data itself.
It was designed for 3D printing with shot blasting for a shiny finish, as the 1st prize award for the Apps voor Eindhoven: Open Data. The inspiration for its shape came precisely from the apps themselves and the ¡modern city in a green environment’ that is Eindhoven. Having endless visual representations of data as tree graphs, which represent the relationship between the informational data recovered and symbolize the connectivity of open data resources.

The Zermatt and Chamonix baby furniture focuses on safety and practicality, while staying coherent to the Belgian company Noukie’s and its brand identity.
The complete collection developed includes a baby cot, a junior evolutive bed, closer, drawer chest, a baby changer, playpen, toy chest and a hanger. Relevant assembly manuals for each piece of furniture were also developed. ( https://issuu.com/mlecanda/docs/chamonix_zermatt_bed_140 )
A line of decorative handles and its packaging was also designed based on the Noukie’s characters to match the seasonal product lines. Also a full line of retail POP furniture was designed for the company’s boutiques in Europe, most of them in Belgium and France.
Watpack is a modular pet shelter inspired by architecture and textile technology. It provides the necessary product flexibility in terms of possible shapes and sizes to better suit particular pet needs. The shelter gives them their private space, while stylishly adapting to their humans’ home.
The triangular PVC modules have rims along their edges and are held together by silicone ‘joints’. These modules make it possible to build endless shape and size variations. Different colours and finishes may be achieved, making them as bright as neon or as neutral as wood veneer. The ‘joints’ may also become a visual accent depending on the combination of their colour and the modules’.

Tutia is a handy stackable stools that adapt to the user’s needs while accentuating the fabric’s design.
Use it unstacked for kids or for those extra guests, and stacked as a graphic mosaic-stool. The textile design employed will define the overall style and will make it easy to transform them to better suit an array of users, while the wooden feet discretely hide into the cushions.
